Crypto.com is a cryptocurrency platform that offers crypto staking, loans, and some exchange services. Crypto.com offers savings rates as high as 64% APR on deposits, with no hidden fees and instant access to your funds. Instant loans can also be secured against your deposits at rates as low as 8% APR, with no credit checks required.
The platform was founded in 2016 by Kris Marszalek and Gary Or. The company is Hong Kong based and raised $200M in venture funds on March 4, 2021. The company has more than 2,600 employees and 10M+ customers from all around the world.
Crypto.com offers only mobile apps for its platform. There is no crypto.com web app. The platform has a large variety of products which can mean that navigation around their app takes a while to get used to. The apps can be used to deposit fiat and crypto currencies in to an online wallet, buy and sell crypto currencies including Bitcoin, move funds into an interest bearing savings accounts, or use the funds as collateral against a loan. One great feature of the phone apps is that users in the US can buy crypto securely using Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Crypto.com will ask for your full legal name, id, and a selfie when registering an account and it may take up to 24 hours to be verified. Only after verification, users will be able to start using the app.
Crypto.com offers a Metal Visa Card which has cash-back rewards up to 8% on purchases. The Metal Visa Card is not a credit card, it is a prepaid card that can be topped up with crypto funds. Requirements to be eligible for this card is quite high, users should hold at least $400 USD worth of crypto for at least 6 months.
Crypto.com also has wallet services. Users can store and connect their cryptos for DeFi products to earn yields. Users can connect their wallets to Crypto.com DeFi swap page and access and farm new tokens on the market.

Crypto.com has some of the best loan rates secured against EOS (8%), however Crypto.com also has less competitive loan rates secured against Bitcoin (8% vs 4.5% at Coinloan), Litecoin (8% vs 4.5% at Coinloan), Stellar (8% vs 4.5% at Coinloan) and several other cryptocurrencies.

Risk Management
All key activites on the Crypto.com are secured by multi-factor authentication including face ID and 2 factor authentication codes. In addition Crypto.com has passed multiple security audits including ISO 22301:2019, ISO/IEC 27701:2019, ISO/IEC 27001:2013 and PCIDSS v3.2.1 Level 1 compliance. The app has achieved the highest security rating for both NIST Cybersecurity and Privacy Frameworks. Finally Crypto.com contracts with third party security firms such as Kudelski Security to stress test their systems.
Crypto.com claims that 100% of user crypto deposits are held offline in cold storage wallets. These wallets are secured by cold storage custodian Ledger Vault. Crypto.com also hold $750M of insurance against loss of these assets.
All fiat deposits are held in Metropolitan Commercial Bank and are covered by FDIC insurance up to $250k USD.
Crypto.com is a substantial and complex business with activity in almost every aspect of Crypto. They have hugely ambitious plans and an experienced team behind them. How all of Crypto.com's various activities and subsidiaries connect together financially is not clear and the extent to which failure in one part of the business could have implications in other areas is also a concern. The method that Crypto.com uses to generate yield on their earn product is not clear, and so we can not be certain of the level of risk they are taking to generate customer returns. We can take some reassurance from Crypto.com's commitment to holding 100% of user deposits in cold storage.
We were not able to find any proof of reserves for Crypto.com. Proof of reserves are normally carried out by an external third party and provide assurance that the company has enough assets to pay out all customer liabilities (deposits) if required.
Withdrawals
Withdrawals on Crypto.com are completely automatic and run 24 hours per day. This means that withdrawals are generally very efficicent and in our tests withdrawals were completed in under an hour.
Withdrawals do attract fees, which are generally speaking around $10 USD.
Crypto.com allows you to whitelist external wallet addresses, meaning that funds can only be withdrawn to these addresses. There is also a feature to lock new whitelisted addresses for 24 hours, so that they do not become active until 24 hours after they were setup.
Coverage
Crypto.com supports 203 different cryptocurrencies and 3 fiat currencies. Key supported cryptocurrencies include Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, BNB, USD Coin and XRP. Crypto.com support for fiat currencies includes Pounds Sterling, US Dollars and Euros. The biggest crypto platforms offer support for over 33 different cryptocurrencies.
Support for a larger number of cryptocurrencies is helpful if you are looking for trading opportunities, but may be less important if your priority is long term investment in one of the major cryptos.

Crypto.com Reviews
Crypto.com has mixed reviews. People like the wide range of products and those who simply want to buy and HODL have generally speaking had a good experience. However users looking to use the app for active trading or who have ordered a visa card have encountered issues. When they have contacted customer support the response has sometimes been very slow.
Some users have raised concerns about high spreads on exchange rates. Whilst Crypto.com's official exchange fees are quite low, the exchange rate they quote you can be quite high meaning you are in effect paying a much higher total exchange fee. Other users have raised concerns generally about high fees.
Some users have experienced long delays in receiving their visa card and feel that the rewards offered with these cards may not have been worth the CRO tokens they had to stake to get the card. Card benefits have also been recently reduced.
Many users find the app difficult to navigate. There are just so many features on the app that it can be difficult to find what you are looking for.

Crypto.com offers excellent savings account on its platform that is easy to use and offers rates of up to 64% APR. Crypto.com has a wide selection of cryptos and stablecoins.
To access the savings account customers need to move their funds to Crypto Earn wallets. Once the funds are moved, funds start to accrue interest daily and you can withdraw your funds at any time. Interest is paid out weekly in the same currency as you deposited.
There are three holding term options, flexible (instant access), 3 months, and 6 months. Funds are deposited back to crypto wallets automatically at the end of the term. The interest rate changes depending on the length of the term, with longer terms attracting higher rates.
There is a minimum deposit requirement of $250 USD or equivalent crypto on Crypto Earn wallets.
Crypto.com hold the private keys to the cryptocurrency wallets on their platform. However a product unique to Crypto.com called DeFi Wallet allows customers to retain control of their private keys and still benefit from earning from their funds by using staking mediators like Compound, Aave or Crypto.com Chain Staking.

Crypto.com offers instant loans from $100 USD to $1,000,000 USD with rates varying from 8% APR to 12% APR. Loans are provided for a standard 12 months term. You can pay back the loan anytime during the 12 months period.
Crypto.com accepts many different major crypto currencies as collateral. There are no credit checks required and your personal credit rating will not be affected by applying for the loan.
Loans have no fixed payment, monthly late fees, or deadlines. Loans can be paid any time in the 12 months from the beginning of the loan.
Users can apply for a loan on the Credit tab on the Crypto.com app. A few simple steps will enable users to access funds. Just specify the crypto that you are putting forward as collateral to secure the loan and then choose the stablecoin that you would like to receive your loan in. The loan will then be processed automatically and instantly.
Loans have no origination fees and no early repayment fees. You simply need to make the interest payments on the loan, which must be made in the same currency as the loan was granted in.
Loans are available at a range of different loan to value (LTV) rates up to a maximum of 85%. The lower the LTV ratio the lower the loan interest rate is.
You can also get better rates if you stake CRO coins. CRO coins are intermediate currency, issued by the Crypto.com company. The more CRO coins you stake, the better rates you get. You can also make payments in CRO coin.
Crypto.com requires its users to complete Advanced level verification before they are eligible for a loan application. Unfortunately, Crypto.com loans are not available in many countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Italy, and China.

Crypto.com Security
Crypto.com has one of the biggest insurance policies among crypto finance companies. Crypto.com has a $100M USD direct insurance policy led by Arch Underwriting at Lloyd's Syndicate 2012.
