Bitcoin Cash is a hard fork version of Bitcoin. The first hard fork was in 2017 and the second one was in 2018. The main difference between Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash is the size of the blocks. Bitcoin's block size is limited to 1 MB per block and it makes the entire system perform slow. Bitcoin Cash is created to solve the network speed problem by increasing the size of the blocks. Bitcoin Cash is meant to be used as a daily currency with its faster network. The price of Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash is different.
Stacks (STX) is a cryptocurrency that aims to bring smart contracts and decentralized applications (dApps) to the Bitcoin blockchain. Stacks uses a unique consensus mechanism called "proof of transfer" (PoX) which allows STX holders to earn Bitcoin (BTC) by locking up their STX tokens and participating in the validation of transactions on the network. The Stacks network is built on top of the Bitcoin blockchain, which is used as a secure and reliable base layer for executing smart contracts and building decentralized applications. Stacks enables developers to build dApps using familiar programming languages, such as JavaScript and Python, and provides a suite of tools and resources to facilitate the development process. One key feature of Stacks is its focus on decentralized finance (DeFi) applications, with the platform supporting the creation of decentralized exchanges, lending and borrowing protocols, and other DeFi products. STX is used as the native currency of the Stacks network, and it is used to pay for transaction fees, smart contract execution, and other network services. STX can also be staked to earn BTC rewards through the PoX consensus mechanism. Stacks is a promising project that aims to bring smart contracts and DeFi to the Bitcoin blockchain, while also providing an opportunity for STX holders to earn BTC through the PoX consensus mechanism.
